Cards honor La Russa; face Atlanta at home (Lineups)

The first-place Saint Louis Cardinals open up a three game series against the Atlanta Braves at home inside Busch Stadium tonight for a 7:15 pm Central Time first pitch. Before the game will be a ceremony to honor all-time Cardinals' great Tony La Russa, who is the winningest manager in Cardinals' baseball history.

Although many people expected tonight to be the return of slugger' Lance Berkman, the organization decided to wait to activate him following warmups when he decided it'd be best. Manager Mike Matheny stated during the teams' batting practice that he will more than likely return tomorrow; but that will depend as well.

The game tonight between the first-place Cardinals and the second-place Atlanta Braves will feature a pitching matchup of the Cardinals' Jaime Garcia and the Braves' Mike Minor. The game will deliver the first pitch at 7:15 pm Central Time and will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest. Here is a look at the lineup that the manager has put together for tonight's contest:
  1. Rafael Furcal (shortstop)
  2. Jon Jay (centerfield)
  3. Matt Holliday (left field)
  4. Carlos Beltran (right field)
  5. Allen Craig (first base)
  6. Yadier Molina (catcher)
  7. Matt Carpenter (third base)
  8. Tyler Greene (second base)
  9. Jaime Garcia (pitcher)
